Spyder
spark plug removal and re-installation.

Locate the chrome spark plug and wires cover at the top of the engine.

Locate the 2 flathead retaining bolts that holds the cover in place.

In the center of these bolts are chromed plastic covers that must be removed to
access the Allen screw hole. They can be carefully removed with a knife or a
very thin screwdriver blade. Simply work the blade beneath them and pop them
out.
After exposing the 2 Allen screws, remove them by unscrewing them in a counter
clock wise direction.
After both of these screws are removed, the chrome cover will lift off easily
exposing the spark plug wires.
Grasp the spark plug wire by the boot (never pull on the wire itself) and pull
it off (you may have to twist it slightly as you pull because these are friction
fit and can be very snug.
Clean the area around the spark plug by wiping with a cloth or blowing with
compressed air to make sure that the area is clean and free of any debris that
might fall into the engine once the spark plug is out.
Use the correct size spark plug socket and ratchet and unscrew the spark plug in
a counter clockwise motion.
After the spark plugs are out, examine them thoroughly and replace if necessary.
A normal plug should be a grayish to tan color and dry as the picture below
shows.

These are both normal plugs but the one on the right does need replaced.
If your plugs look wet or oily or soot covered or worn, you need to contact your
dealer for adequate replacements and to diagnose any engine possible problems
that might be developing.
Reinstallation is of course just the reverse of the removal process…
Screw the spark plugs in finger tight with a clockwise motion and then using the
same wrench used for removal. Tighten them approximately ¼ turn farther or
until they are snug.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
